BIOTIC
CONDITIONS
| Rodents abundance evaluation: |
low
Breeding conditions:
| Weather conditions were unlikely to adversely affect breeding performance of most wader species. Ducks and geese suffered from predation by Arctic and Red foxes and Brown Bears. Bears were in particular active on colonies of Herring Gulls Larus vegae. Geese nests under observation for scientific purposes apparently suffered from predation, while others were predated by Arctic Foxes to lesser extent. Breeding success of Common Eider was very low.
Rodent dynamics:
| Very few lemmings were seen.

Rodent species recorded:
| Latin | Abundance |
| Lemmus trimucronatus | rare |
| Microtus oeconomus | rare |
